Animation Ident Research
When I came to researching other idents there were various sources I used for a guide line and ideas they are as follows:
Internet Television Magazines YouTubeThere were various pieces of information I extracted from each of the sources for example the `channel 4’ ident directly links to channel 4 as it shows a four then you know you are watching channel. This information was relevant to our Ident as we liked that idea so we decided to use that idea by using the word `media’ that could then be directly link to the media department.

Task 2:
Proposal
This is my proposal to produce a media department Ident.
The objective is to produce an ident that would be good and suitable for the media department so whoever views a video with this animation in it would know that it is a media department production.
My vision is to have the word media, with the letters appearing in the shot a then moving into place. To do this I will use plasticine to mould the letters.
We are now in the process of producing the letters for the ident which will then be used in the final product.
Next thing to do is to find a background to put on the green screen that will be suitable for the media department ident.
There will be some difficulties when producing the ident as we are using the green screen and we have to get an even colour for the green screen to work properly and for the letters to be sharp around the edges and not blurred.
Proposal [ Improved ]
This is my proposal to produce a well presented and appropriate ident for the Park Hall Academy media department that is to be viewed by the whole school.
Our main objective is to produce a ident that is well suited for the media department which will then be viewed by the whole school; the ident will need to be suitable for viewing of all ages, which will then be recognised when placed on a video that it will be a media department production.
My vision was to originally produce the word media using Lego pieces but we found this to be very difficult so then opted to use plasticine as we found it easier to mould and shape. My vision is to make the letters appear in the shot and then shuffle, walk or roll into place with the letters eventually spelling the word media.
We are now in the process of moulding the letters for the ident, these letters when finished will be used for our final product. The letters need to be bold and fairly big as if they are small and not very bold they will be hard to see.
Next we will be finding a suitable background that we can add behind the letters in our animation. The background needs to be suitable enough for viewing of the whole school so the background cannot contain any rude and graphic images.
We found there were some difficulties when editing out the green screen in particular; for the green screen to work properly you have to have an even colour of green across the whole shot for the green screen to work properly and the letters to be sharp and not blurred at the edges and this was a problem as the green screen room has a lot of natural light coming in which made shadows on the green screen. Furthermore one of our letters was green so when the green was selected part of the letter was also selected. After a quick team discussion we decided to have the whole of the background green as the table was in shot we decided to turn the table green rather than turning the green screen to something else we found this to be better than editing the green screen out.
